履虎尾，不咥人，亨。
履象征谨慎而行，伴君如伴虎。踩在虎尾上极险，但只要极致遵循礼仪规章、保持柔顺分寸，虎非但不咬人（不咥人），前途反而通达。
初九 素履，往无咎。
九二 履道坦坦，幽人贞吉。
六三 眇能视，跛能履，履虎尾，咥人，凶。武人为于大君。
九四 履虎尾，愬愬，终吉。
九五 夬履，贞厉。
上九 视履考祥，其旋元吉。
履虎尾，不咥人，亨。
Even stepping on a tiger's tail, the tiger does not turn to bite — this careful conduct leads to real progress.
Initial Nine: Walking your own honest path, without pretense — nothing here to fault as you go forward.
Nine in the second: The road underfoot runs level and easy. A quiet, self-possessed traveler who isn't chasing status finds lasting good fortune on it.
Six in the third: A person half-blind still manages to look, a person lame still manages to walk — but stepping onto the tiger's tail this way ends in a bite. Misfortune. Only a soldier following his commander's orders takes such a risk.
Nine in the fourth: Stepping onto the tiger's tail itself. Only by staying watchful and on edge does this end well.
Nine in the fifth: Acting with forceful decisiveness. Holding firm here still carries real risk.
Nine at the top: Look back over the whole road you've walked and weigh what the signs actually show. If the full circle closes cleanly, the fortune that follows is complete.
