Hexagram 28 · Preponderance of the Great

栋桡。利有攸往，亨。
大过象征压力过载、栋梁弯曲。情势危急（栋桡）。但只要敢于采取非凡行动，便能打通关节、获得亨通。
初六 藉用白茅，无咎。
九二 枯杨生稊，老夫得其女妻，无不利。
九三 栋桡，凶。
九四 栋隆，吉。有它吝。
九五 枯杨生华，老妇得其士夫，无咎无誉。
上六 过涉灭顶，凶，无咎。

栋桡。利有攸往，亨。
The main beam bends under the strain. Moving forward now is favorable, and leads to success.
Initial Six: Laying down a soft bed of white reeds before setting anything on top -- this care alone leaves no room for fault.
Nine in the second: A withered poplar sends up new shoots at its base -- like an aging man marrying a much younger wife, unlikely renewal that works out well in every respect.
Nine in the third: The ridgepole sags to the breaking point. Misfortune.
Nine in the fourth: The ridgepole is braced. Good fortune. If there are ulterior motives, it is humiliating.
Nine in the fifth: A withered poplar manages to flower -- like an older woman taking a young husband, nothing wrong with it, but nothing to celebrate either.
Six at the top: Wading in until the water closes entirely over your head -- a real misfortune, though not one you could be faulted for.
