Hexagram 60 · Limitation

亨。苦节不可贞。
节象征节制、合规、度量。通达。然而若推行极端反人性的『苦节』（过度克扣压榨），则无法长久，不可盲目守此。
初九 不出户庭，无咎。
九二 不出门庭，凶。
六三 不节若，则嗟若，无咎。
六四 安节，亨。
九五 甘节，吉，往有尚。
上六 苦节，贞凶，悔亡。

There is success in setting limits — but limits taken to a bitter, punishing extreme cannot be sustained.
Initial Nine: Staying inside one's own door and courtyard, without venturing out, draws no fault.
Nine in the second: Remaining shut inside the gate and courtyard when one should have gone out brings misfortune.
Six in the third: Someone who never learns to set limits eventually has real cause for regret -- though owning that mistake honestly keeps it from becoming a fault.
Six in the fourth: Limits that feel natural and easy to live with here lead to real success.
Nine in the fifth: Sweet limitation brings good fortune. Going brings esteem.
Six at the top: Limits pushed to a harsh, punishing extreme bring misfortune if maintained -- though once that's recognized and eased, the regret lifts.
